Wiregrass facing blood shortage, says American Red Cross | Health

Southeast AL (Barbour, Butler, Covington, Coffee, Henry, Houston, Dale, Geneva, Crenshaw) hasn't collected an adequate supply in TWELVE MONTHS (June). Patients can’t afford for you or donors to lose interest in the mission of saving lives. Imports to make up for what we lack are NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Shortages cause surgeries to be postponed and those who get regular blood products not to receive at normal frequency. Our region supplies approximately 100 hospitals and needs 600 donors each day to meet the demands. August donors are entered to win $3000. Donors can find drives at www.redcrossblood.org. We're short booked by 100 units and need more sponsors. There's a $100 incentive along with a Kindle drawing for goal!
