2008 double homicide suspect will spend rest of life in prison

CRENSHAW, CO., AL (WSFA) - The suspect accused of robbing and murdering a grocery store owner and store clerk has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Crenshaw County District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer says Antonio McNear was sentenced today to serve two life sentences, one for the death of Kelley Grocery Store owner Charles Kelley, and one for the store clerk Patricia Bargainer. McNear will also serve 99 year sentences each for the robbery of Kelley and Bargainer as well as for the attempted murder of Betty Kelley. All sentences are to be served consecutively - McNear will spend the rest of his life in prison.

McNear was arrested along with another man, John Lewis Thomas, Jr, on August 29, 2008, just hours after the shooting deaths of Kelley and Bargainer.
